Attractive Apprenticeship as Greenhouse Gardener

Employee in greenhouse, kalanchoe

About the Education

It all starts somewhere, and before anyone can buy a beautiful plant for their home, there needs to be a greenhouse gardener on the job, ensuring that the plants have the best possible growing conditions.

It’s not insignificant how the plants are put into the soil, or how they’re watered. Many plants need to be planted, cared for, and packed every day. Everything has to come together seamlessly, so that our customers receive the most beautiful plants delivered every day. As an apprentice at LUNDAGER, you’ll be part of making that happen.

The education is exciting, and we work with over 400 different plant species. So you’ll get the opportunity to dive deep into the greenhouse gardening trade – it’s nerding out in the best way.

Green fingers, dirt under the nails, curiosity, and a passion for the health and well-being of plants – these are some of the traits that define a greenhouse gardener apprentice at LUNDAGER.

Structure of the Education

The education consists of basic course 1 and 2, which you’ll have completed before starting at LUNDAGER. After that, you’ll alternate between apprenticeship periods with us and school periods. The entire education concludes with a journeyman’s exam.

The first main course period lasts 15 weeks, and the second main course period lasts 16 weeks. The total duration of the education varies depending on your educational and experience background. You can always contact one of the country’s horticultural colleges for advice and guidance on how the education should be structured for you.

When you train at LUNDAGER, you also have the opportunity to go abroad during your internship period. We receive cuttings from all over the world. You can do an internship and work with these partners as part of your education.

Your salary stays the same, but you’ll gain an amazing experience and come home with a wealth of new knowledge that you’ll be able to share with us.

The Sense of Community Among Apprentices Is Something Special
We want to create beautiful plants for our customers across Europe. That’s why we combine the education with knowledge, curiosity, and theory. We believe our apprentices should experience the full spectrum during their training.

At LUNDAGER, we can have up to 15 apprentices, which creates a fantastic sense of community. This means you’ll also become part of a young and dynamic environment. As an apprentice at LUNDAGER, you’ll move around our entire nursery and experience what it means to work across all areas of the business.
